  3. Listen to your customers
Some of our web based favorites and we do use most of them on a daily basis.

SocialOomph

Social Oomph is a tool to help you manage your twitter world and your tweets. Generally pretty good and definitely worth the free trial. Some of its key features:
  • Auto replys - set up a message that will be automatically sent to those who follow you.
  • Replies Daily Digest - you receive a daily email, usually sent within 12 hours of all your @Replies.
  • Auto Follow/Unfollow - Automatically follow those who follow you and unfollow those who unfollow you.
  • Vetting - You get to manually approve a new follower
HootSuite
This is definitely one of our favorites for business use, as it allows you to update Facebook and multiple other accounts via integration with Ping.fm (a great social media management tool unto itself. With a very feature-rich interface, it’s more ideal for advanced Twitter users, however if you want to set up schedule updates to all your accounts with one tool this is one of the tool combinations that just about does it all.

Ping.fm
Is a free social networking and micro-blogging web service that enables users to post to multiple social networks simultaneously. Making an update on Ping.fm pushes the update to a number of different social websites at once and with the recent announcement that Seesmic has acquired Ping.fm, it will let users update 50 social networks from the service.
Using Seesmic+Ping.fm, social networkers will be able post updates from the web, email, chat, SMS, from Blackberry, Android and other smart phones and through Windows and OSX operating systems. The 50 social networks encompass a wide range including the popular and well-known Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, LinkedIn,MySpace and others.

Seesmic
Seesmic’s desktop client was built with Adobe AIR, so as long as you’re comfortable with first installing AIR, this is a great tool for updating your Twitter and Facebook accounts (there’s also a web-based version, but the desktop version is recommended). Don't forget that Seesmic has now acquired Ping.fm
Tweetdeck
The feature set is mainly centered around Twitter’s capabilities, so if you mainly use Twitter but also need to stay on top of your presence on Facebook and/or Myspace, this works well.
